After spending a long morning last week at the top of the Moraine Lake "rock pile", I decided to explore other parts of lake. The day was beautiful with nice deep blue skies. As I began to walk around the lake. I quickly came to the canoe dock. The brightly colored canoes were striking against the deep blue sky. I shot the canoes from every angle possible...on the dock , off the dock; close ups of the canoes and distance shots of the canoes. The image I like the most is the one you see below. In the image, I've included the rocks in the foreground as well as the spruce trees on the right to give you a better sense for the area surrounding the canoes. I included all of the canoes in the composition rather than just focusing on a few as I think that the tranquility of the moment is better appreciated by sharing a broader perspective; all of the canoes circling around the dock with the mountains in the background creates a certain harmony in my opinion.
